The Canmaker : "Russia’s sole tinplate producer Magnitogorsk (MMK) plans to install a new tension leveller at its trading and distribution company MMK Trading House.
To start up by the end of next year, the investment is expected to boost annual tinplate sales by about 30,000 tonnes, said Dmitriy Balandin, MMK Trading House sales chief for coated products.
The equipment is aimed at improving tinplate flatness. “Product flatness will come to 1.5 to 2mm rather than to the 5mm prescribed by GOST 13345-85, the old government standard,” said Balandin."
