packagingnews.co.uk: "There's been a lof of it about in the past few weeks. Linpac Packaging said that it needed to put prices up for food packaging customers because of its input costs; Iggesund and others have put up prices: then last week, Sessions of York went under, apparently because high paper prices had squeezed it so hard that it was impossible to carry on doing business.
And last month PAFA, the plastics association, voiced concerns about the cost of materials and said that price rises would have to be passed on to buyers.
For the materials suppliers, though, it seems that profits are coming back. Stora Enso's operating profit for the first quarter of the year, for instance, was five times better than the equivalent figure in 2009."
