Nippon Steel wins price hike for tinplate to Indonesia

SteelGuru: "It is reported that Nippon Steel is engaging in negotiation for tinplate export price for December 2008 shipments with Indonesian tinplate manufacturer PT Latinusa.

As per report, both sides have agreed to a price rise of USD 50 per tonne. Besides, Nippon Steel will have the price negotiation with PT Latinusa again in December for January 2009 shipments.

Because of the mixed global steel market, PT Latinusa had not imported tinplate from Japan in November. However, PT Latinusa is expected that the tinplate demand will be still good in December; therefore, another new price negotiation with Nippon Steel is necessary."
