Coca Cola switch to steel (in India)
Factiva: "Coca-Cola has decided to shift from aluminium to steel cans for marketing its products. The company currently uses expensive aluminium cans, which costs Rs80,000 per tonne, while steel costs Rs44,000 per tonne. Coca-Cola has submitted sensory qualifications for steel cans to Hindustan Tin Works, a manufacturer of cans. According to Coca-Cola, only two percent of its soft drink sale is through cans, while 48 percent is from sale of plastic bottles and 50 percent is through returnable glass bottles."
