Steel Guru "Meishan Steel developed a kind of tin plate for the manufacture of crown cap adding another member to Baosteel cold rolled product family.
Tin plate MR T-5CA produced by Meishan Steel previously is mainly applied to manufacture the caps of beer bottles and soda bottles which are called crown cap in the circle. But MR T-5CA is difficult and costly to produce, and various properties of it have exceeded the customers' demand. While MR T-4CA cannot reach the requirements in terms of hardness and strength, etc.
In view of this, Meishan Steel optimized the composition design and successfully developed a brand-new steel grade. Since there is no corresponding tally for this steel grade in Baosteel prevailing standard, and its hardness is between that of MR T-4CA and MR T-5CA, it is temporarily named as tin plate MR T-4.5CA.
Since this April, the customers in Shanghai and Wuxi started to try out this product. Now the total orders have exceeded 4000 tonnes. More and more domestic customers are keen on this new steel grade. Meishan Steel has formulated relevant expansion plan to strive after greater market share"
