The Star (Malaysia): "Asian tinplate producers are generally positive on the industry’s outlook for 2010-2011 with their production to remain intact despite strong fluctuations in the major raw material prices, a conference was told yesterday.
Top tinplate industry players from India, China and Thailand concur that the current two-year high tin price, trading above US$23,000 per tonne, would unlikely affect production cost but the new price mechanism for iron ore starting this year could pose a challenge to industry players."
